Two days have gone by...the soreness in my knee, hip, shoulder, etc. has gone away from the rose petal splits, half-twist, two-point landing on the concrete. Darla, Susie and I were bustling about the shop filling orders. Tazzie, our wonderful miniature poodle and shop mascot was with me at the shop, and to make her comfortable I had put her doggie bed out by the flower bar so she could be with me while I was working (you'll see why this is relevant in a minute).
I'll set the scene for you...Darla and Susie were processing a flower shipment in the back room. I was working on a project at the flower bar. I had been going back and forth between back room and flower bar getting supplies and as I scooted in behind the bar my foot made contact with a wet flower stem and...oh NO! Here we go again!
My leading right foot went out from under me and as I went down my left leg folded up under me then wildly popped out from under. As I'm falling backward, my knee already screaming in pain, I'm envisioning my head hitting the concrete as I frantically try and stop the fall, then thump!!! My rear hits the concrete and simultaneously my head slams into....oh thank the Lord! My head and shoulders land squarely into Tazzie's doggie bed!
Everything and I mean everything is hurting...except my head. Okay, how long am I going to lay here? So FINALLY they hear me and come around the corner and start laughing. "Hey, quit screwing around!" They thought I was lying in Tazzie's bed for a joke? Helloooooooooo!! I'm a jokester but come on people!! The pain was so bad I had tears in my eyes and they finally realized I wasn't joking. Then I started laughing, imaging how stupid I looked lying flat on the floor with my head resting in a dog bed. Tazzie was nervously giving me puppy kisses on the face, wiping away my tears. We kept on laughing and joking around as I dragged myself up off the floor for the second time in two days!!
As I write this note, the bruises are healing and the knees are okay and a letter is on the way to the building owner to ask for non-skid panels for the floor!
